A never-ending quest to stand up one more time than I fall down.

Dec 14

I actively avoid any type of confrontation, especially on the Internet, but I just saw something that made my blood boil, so I wanted to comment on it. To do so, I had to “like” Tara Costa (from Biggest Loser) on Facebook, which was painful in itself, because I really do not “like” her. But I think in terms of Biggest Loser competitors, she is the truest athlete among them, so kudos to her.

So back to the comment.

Tara posts this:

I have never done Filthy Fifties, but I’ve certainly heard about it, so I was intrigued. I clicked through to the whole thread and saw this:

I saw that and wanted to punch someone. It reeks of complacency, but also of someone who thinks she knows better than anyone else about what it takes to be fit. I’m sure she goes for a walk around her neighborhood every afternoon and brags about her level of fitness. Her avatar looks to be her atop a horse. I know horse-riding is exercise. But it’s harder for the horse.

So I posted this:

It just drove me crazy that this woman was advocating NOT doing something like Crossfit, just because she herself finds it not “fun and sustainable.”

So now we know what it takes to bring me out of my online-confrontation-shell: Talk shit about Crossfit.
